Team Chat

Use Chat for team communication. This is where coaches read and send messages, move between Team Chat and channels, and review message activity.

Quick steps

Open a team from Home or My Teams & Groups.
Select the Chat tab.
Use Team Chat for the main team conversation.
If available, open the channel picker to switch channels.
Send a message if the message box is visible.

What you’ll see

At the top of the page, you may see:

Channel
Team Chat
New channel
Channel options

Team Chat is the default team conversation.

If channels are available, the channel picker can show:

Channels
Create channel
Joined
Available
Team Chat
Default
Join
Invite-only

Read and send messages

In Chat, coaches can:

read the team conversation
switch between Team Chat and visible channels
open joined channels
join open channels when Join appears
send a message if the message box is visible
open attachments shown in messages

If the message box appears, the placeholder is:

If there are no messages, the page shows:

We didn't find any messages
Type a message below to get the conversation started

Some coaches may have a read-only Chat experience. If the tab is visible but the message box is not, sending may not be enabled for that user.

Message actions

From a message, coaches may be able to use:

Acknowledge
View recipients
reactions

You may also see:

Message actions
Message archived
Show
Hide

Archive message appears under admin tools and should not be treated as a standard coach action.

Attachments

If sending is available, the attachment menu can include:

Take Photo
Open your camera
Choose File
Pick from this device
My Library
Choose from Doodlio

While attachments upload, Chat can show:

Uploading your attachments...

Team Chat vs channels

Use Team Chat for the main conversation for everyone on the team.

Use channels for smaller or separate conversations when they are available to you.

Not every coach will see the same channel options, and channel creation or channel management should be treated as conditional.
